Both sides of the record
Before entering healthcare, I worked for nearly a decade as a paralegal for a local attorney, which gave me a strong understanding of how cases develop and how medical evidence fits within the legal process.
My healthcare experience began in 2010 as an ICU nursing assistant. I became a registered nurse in 2011, with nine years of experience across ICU, emergency, perioperative, home health, and school nursing. As a nurse practitioner since 2020, I have provided primary and acute medical care at a VA homeless military veterans clinic, in community health, urgent care, and a southern border emergency intake shelter for unaccompanied minors. I have worked in rural medicine since 2024.
That depth and variety give me a practical, well-rounded perspective that is not limited to a single specialty. Because I understand both nursing and medical-provider standards, I can identify issues that may be missed when records are viewed through only one lens.

How HDMF began
It started with a few phone calls
High Desert Medical Forensics began somewhat unexpectedly. I initially helped a few local attorneys informally, through a mutual friend, by answering basic medical questions about their cases. I began consulting in 2025 and formally opened HDMF in 2026.
As the idea developed, I remembered how challenging it had been during my paralegal years to interpret medical records and injuries for clients without a medical expert to consult. We did our best, but the gap was clear: attorneys practice law, while my background is in nursing and medicine. Medical concepts that are now second nature to me can take attorneys significant time to work through.
The purpose
My goal is to help attorneys reach the medical answers more efficiently, so they can spend their time applying that information to legal strategy and focusing on the work only lawyers can do. HDMF brings together my experience as a paralegal, registered nurse, and medical provider to bridge the gap between medicine and law in a practical, useful way.
